Camping Check List
Here is a list of the basic items you may need on our family campouts. If you are one of our experienced campers, please feel free to add to the list.
___ Tent, sleeping bags, pillows
___ Air mattress or cot. Optional but helpful.
___ Clothes – pants, shorts, shirts, socks, undergarments … bring spares.
Don’t forget something to sleep in, this is a family outing…
___ Shoes – closed toe shoes are required. You may also want to bring something to easily slip on for those late night runs to the bathroom. Crocs work nicely. Spare shoes in case they get wet.
___ Emergency poncho – avail at wal-mart/cvs for $1-$2
___ Flashlight – I would suggest lights with head strap. Extra batteries.
___ Class A and Class B uniform.
___ Snacks and Drinks. We will provide food/ drinks/ plates/ cups/ utensils, but you may want to bring some snacks and drinks for your family. Be careful with packaged drinks to avoid straw wrappers and half full containers littering the camp.
___ Toiletries – Tooth brush, toothpaste etc. Some camps have showers, others don’t – don’t forget the deodorant.
___ Jacket, Blanket – It is South Florida, but it can get a little chilly at night sometimes.
___ Medications, BUG SPRAY, SUN BLOCK, Advil/Tylenol, sunburn gel- if you forgot the sunblock.
___ Camera – Your gonna need facebook material.
___ Folding chairs
___ Lots of energy and a BIG Smile
A couple of optional items that make the experience a little nicer.
Shade tent, several people in the pack have them, no need to go out and buy one.
Battery pack – keeps the cell phones charged.
Please do not bring video games and other electronic devices, this is an outdoor activity. Most of you have cell phones with games on them. Its nice to have the phone with you for camera and phone use but please no electronic games during camp.
